the revolution. think again. and think from a new place.

I'm posting this for a few reasons. First. It's about the RED camera, and also a bit about the 5D Mark II, which I'm working up a review on. Second. It's just cool.

But most importantly, I'm posting it because it's an amazing example of people using new tools to redefine what they do, how they work, and the medium of photography itself. As well as redefining the business we're in. Here is a great example of all the best of a great creative mind. Understand, and use new tools. Look at the tools, and rethink what you do in the context of those tools, especially, what those tools enable you to do.

My favorite line: "If you do exactly what the client expects, you’re not doing your job."

My version of that was always: "If the client wanted pictures that look just like their own ideas, they would have shot it themselves." Whatever. Same idea. Want job security? Work your ass off and think. Constantly.

End of rant. Now watch this, and go make stuff.
